Hello Everyone! Although I hope that you have never questioned the importance of attending the Auburn University Dance Marathon, but in case you need to convince a few friends of why it is so great, check out these Top Five Reasons!
1. It’s fun! The participants get to spend ALL DAY dancing, playing games, participating in contests and theme hours, and spending time with friends.
2. It benefits a local cause, which means that participants can actually see where and how they are making a difference. The families and children we help appreciate our involvement more than we could possibly understand, and they love knowing that we WANT to help them.
3. Participants have the opportunity to actually meet the children and their families, as well as hospital relations! This goes along with making a difference locally, but it truly puts it the whole event into perspective and demonstrates just how important our work is. Hearing from those who benefit from our work is also one of the most rewarding feelings in the world, so that’s just another great reason to attend!
4. It arouses school spirit! Different campus organizations can register as teams and compete against other organizations, or if a group of friends wants to create a team, they can compete too! All the teams work to win an award at the end of the event, and healthy competition is always good! So whether you are involved in Greek Life, SGA, service organizations, honor societies, or any of the other great groups on campus, this is a great way to give back to the community!
5. And finally, because everything we do is FOR THE KIDS (FTK)!! We’ve all grown up and know how vital good childhoods are in forming the people we are today, which is why we all work to create better lives for these kids and families at The Medical Center at Columbus Regional Healthcare System. They are depending on us to help them live life more fully.
